Urinary incontinence is a common and often concealed issue impacting the lives of many. The reluctance to share their struggles doesn't diminish the challenges they face. Empowered by research and heartfelt interviews with those affected, I've envisioned a solution to improve their daily lives.
My design focuses on implementing a service in public restrooms, catering not only to individuals with urinary incontinence due to psychological factors but also others facing clothes soiling for different reasons. The service aims to create an inclusive and supportive environment, offering discreet accommodations, and hygiene products to foster understanding and compassion. Ultimately, it seeks to bring comfort and dignity to those navigating these circumstances.
Quick Access to
Absorbent Products
At the entrance of the restroom, a vending machine is installed. Users entering the restroom can purchase the required absorbent products as quickly as possible, either directly by touching the screen of the vending machine or online by scanning the QR code.
The packaging of the products is de-gendered and the information about the products purchased is hidden to protect the privacy of the purchaser.
Washing and drying
The dryer has a rod on which the user can hang clothes to dry, or stow the rod in the dryer and then stand in the dryer to dry their body.
